It is common knowledge (among architects) that as a discipline we are reluctant to embrace Fuller’s interdisciplinary, anti-monumentalist utopian visions as part of the canon. Nevertheless, Hays sees Fuller as relevant to our contemporary way of thinking (for architecture and the general public) in terms of his ability to totalize and universalize without positivist or reductive thinking.
